Don’t we all dream of that cosy home with a touch of luxury? Pankaj’s beautiful 4 BHK duplex at Vasant Kunj is spacious, with beautiful wall accent walls that adorn every room — each unique. White has been used liberally in the house design with little wooden notes for a warm feel.

Livspace designer Rohit Chaudhary ensured there is a personalised corner in every room for the family members to relax. We love how the interiors feel homely despite its grand outlook.

Luxe Touch

The spacious living room has been made welcoming with its blue and white palette and comfortable seating options. The geometric patterned wallpaper adds character to the room. Bringing in warmth, the wooden panelling gives a fabulous contrast. Rohit added a touch of luxury with a golden wallpaper on the false ceiling.

Two comfortable Chesterfield sofas send out a cosy invite to relax and lounge after a long day. It also provides ample seating for visitors while utilising the space optimally.

A sleek TV unit occupies the opposite wall with symmetrically placed shelves for easy display. The stylish but sturdy centre table completes the look.

As there was no foyer, Rohit added a lounge chair with a footstool to separate the entrance from the living room. This was a smart move, as a partition would have blocked the smooth flow of the house design.

Subtle Elegance

The dining room design is minimal with a glass top dining table, chartreuse-coloured upholstered chairs, and a crockery unit. A gold-toned metallic accent adds a glamorous finish to the setting.

A Bold Move

One of the bedrooms was converted into an entertainment room for the family to enjoy some downtime together. This dramatic lounge with comfortable seating and fiery wallpaper has a warm and adventurous feel. We are in awe of the unconventional colour scheme which only a few dare to attempt. Topped with a marble top centre table and a plush blue rug, the place is surely fun to hang out in.

A Humble Dwelling

A compact pooja unit is provided below the stairs with beautiful jali work on the doors. The carved design gives it a divine attire and invokes reverence at sight.

Monochromatic Palette

Neutral hues dominate Pankaj’s room which offers a soothing ambience. Use of black, white and grey in abundance brings the look together.

Adding warmth to the monochromatic room is the wooden TV unit. Wooden tones are an appeasing sight and a beautiful contrast to the muted theme.

The room also houses a compact study within a small extension of the room. This simple setup holds just a table, chair and shelf to stock essentials.

A gallery wall with the family’s portraits adorns the wall in the passage leading to the parents’ room. A muted graphic-printed wallpaper acts as a perfect background to highlight the pictures.

Peaceful & Pleasant

The parents’ room has cool blues and whites for a calm and serene setting. With minimal furniture and an eye-soothing palette, this is the perfect design for the elderly couple to relax and lounge

Since both are avid readers, a compact niche with cosy seating and shelves to form a stunning reading corner. Wouldn’t you like to try this out in your home?

Here as well, wooden panelling adds warmth to the room. Whites pervades the setting to give it a spacious and airy feel.

Pop of Colour

The guest room has a lively feel with brilliant prints that stand out. We love the contemporary look which the striated, black and white headboard gives the room. While pristine white rules the room, wooden tones in the form of furniture, wardrobe and flooring offer a beautiful contrast.

The Acacia finish of the two-wardrobe uplifts the light tones of the room. Basic internal accessories extend storage to the guests. A love seat beside the wardrobe is comfy and handy to pass time in.

“It was a great experience working with Pankaj and his family. I had to combine the tastes of the whole family to give it personal touch. The final look is beautiful and I love the living room because it captures their preferences perfectly.”
