Warm natural wood textures, a sea of white walls, dashes of green, spacious interiors and a picturesque view — this home redefines luxury with a global vibe. When Smita and Avinash, homeowners, approached Livspace they were clear that designing interiors is a one-time investment which they wanted done to perfection in the first go!

Our designer Akanksha ensured she brought her A-game to match their expectations in designing this 4BHK. The trio invested their time and patience to curate a charming design that reflects the family’s lifestyle and tastes.

Akanksha had received a clear directive from Avinash that the home should look and feel natural with industrial elements taking center stage. The result was a refreshing medley of raw finishes and modern furniture to infuse a homely feel in the rustic design.

The combination of wood and mirrors in this crockery unit converts the crude textures in the room into an organised and modish zone.

Natural light floods the room through the large windows. Accented with bright yellow sofas and green vertical grass walls, the room stays warm and fresh. Tea-time can be invigorating with the grassy balcony, gentle breeze and brilliant view from the 11th floor.

This kitchen pays homage to Smita’s devotion to Julia Child. She did not want a perfect kitchen but what defined a baker’s lifestyle — something highly functional. The colour palette and layout of this kitchen were inspired by the legendary cook’s kitchen display at the National Museum of American History in Washington DC.

The study has been fitted in a corner of the master bedroom by windows where one can bathe in the natural light and enjoy the view. If one is busy working, the other can always use the daybed to read and relax.

The lounge was designed to act as a makeshift guestroom. The Murphy bed within the teal sofa pops out when you remove a few cushions. The patterns and textures in the room were balanced to prevent elements from clashing with each other.

“Avinash was well-versed with how things work in the design field which made the process challenging and fun at the same time. We didn’t quit trying till the house was dressed to the nines.”
