Vastu Shastra translates to ‘the science of architecture’ and is an ancient concept widely followed in India. The objective of Vastu for home is to align the living space according to nature (directions, the five elements) for prosperity and positive energy.

That is, you should ideally be facing the west, north, east, or north-east while standing at the heart of your condo, facing the front door. The directions of the rooms are just as important as that of the condo. Vastu Shastra prescribes directions for different rooms of a house based on its purpose and usage.
Living Room

Dining Room

Bedroom
According to Vastu Shastra, the master bedroom should be built in the south-west direction for good health and prosperity. The bed should be in the southwest corner of the bedroom, with your head facing west. The south-east and north-east directions must be avoided as they can cause quarrels and health issues.
Kids’ Room
The north, east, or the north-east is considered ideal for a children’s bedroom. However, the east is most preferred as the room faces the rising sun, bringing a whole lot of positive energy. According to Vastu, it’s best to not obstruct the sources of natural light in the room.

Study

Toilet
The toilet must be in the west or north-west direction of your condo, according to Vastu Shastra. The reason is that these directions assist in the elimination of waste. Avoid buying condos where the toilets are built in other directions as no corrective measures can change the effects.
