Calm, composed, refreshing and lively, this home is a wonderful dwelling that can brighten your day. Florals contrast with wooden furniture, and nature-inspired hues grab the spotlight in this elegant home. To mellow the overbearing shades, soft-velvety textures have been introduced smatteringly.
For Anuj Jaiswal, Livspace homeowner, a home was something that needed to be warm, inviting and unique. The family sought colourful notes with minimal furniture to beautify their home at Bestech Park View Grand Spa, Gurgaon. Thus, Megha Kedia, Livspace designer, ensured that she put her best foot forward in meeting the family’s aesthetic preferences.
Anuj always wanted the home to instantly feel welcoming. A simple wooden foyer unit adorns the compact space and the yellow ottomans give a glimpse of the colourful ensemble awaiting inside.
Unique Blend for a Warm Welcome
For the unique touch, the living room hosts bold blue sofas paired with bright yellow ottomans. Although many don’t dare to attempt this striking contrast, this eclectic mix is what makes the home unique.
Comfy, sink-in couches matched with a wooden centre table making the room wholesome and inviting.
The smooth texture of the tufted sofa softens the appearance of the room. This Chesterfield sofa with its rolled arms and tufted backrest is a classic twist to the contemporary home.
But wait, there’s more! The room also hosts a floral wingback chair which completes the look. The blue and gold accent wall borrows its colours from the upholstery of the furniture in the room.
Masterfully Designed Bedroom
Steering clear of the notion that pink is only for the kids room, this master bedroom is clearly a win-win for the couple who love colours. The minty green wallpaper and pink wall with trims add to its pretty ambience.
Keeping it economical, the home is dyed in the paint more than wallpaper. The patterns are layered smartly to give a lively feel though the furniture is minimal.
Solid wood furniture brings a classy look with chevron patterns as highlights. To make up for the lack of storage space, Megha added storage beds and a chest of drawers.
The modular wardrobe contrasts the colourful theme of the room with its white glossy finish. The mirror makes it look spacious and airy.
Being in the corporate field, the couple loves spending their time catching up on the latest news. The compact study makes a good spot to relax and read their books.
Keeping it Light for Parents
The parents’ bedroom has a light tone with a wooden wardrobe and floral furnishings. The room has a matured look with simple furniture and a subtle, eye-pleasing appearance.
The American walnut finish adds a warm glow to the room and contrasts the bed with its lighter shade. Here also the mirrored wardrobe gives the room a substantial appearance.
A cosy and simple reading corner for the parents makes its way into the compact room. An upholstered chair with red chenille finishes not just serves this purpose but stands out in the subtle theme.
“ The couple were open to trying new things and I focused on providing them what they required keeping in mind aesthetics and functionality. Thus, the whole process was smooth and fun.”
